Description

This is a 2 panel mosaic of just a small portion of the Vela supernova remnant in the constellation Vela.
The Vela supernova remnant  is an expanding gas cloud from a star that is thought to have exploded approx 11,000 years ago.

This is an HOO image composed of 10.5 hrs of OIII and just under 18hrs of Ha.

The initial calibration, stacking and mosaic process was performed AstroPixel Processor.
The rest of the processing was performed primarily in Pixinsight with some final touches done in Photoshop.
